BY RAIL    Chingford and get a cab!

BY TUBE   Closest tube = Loughton (Central Line) 12 minute walk.  Leave the tube station
and at the junction, cross the road to get to Station Road.  Walk up this road to Loughton
High Street and turn right. After the parades of shops, there is a small green with a war
memorial on it and the Kings Head Pub.  Turn left here and go up York Hill past the
Carpenters pub.  Follow straight up (gets a bit steep and narrow) until the road opens out
at York Hill Green.  Brittens Cottages are to the left of the Gardeners Arms pub. Yellow door.

BY ROAD   -
From the M25 J26, Follow signs to Loughton on the A121. Go up the hill through forest
to another roundabout.  3rd exit signed Loughton, follow through forest until you get
to two mini roundabouts.  Go straight over both and up the hill, passing the
Plume of Feathers pub on your left.  100 yards after the crest of the hill, there is a
post box at the entrance to Pump Hill.  Drive to the top and if you're lucky, you'll find
a parking spot.  Brittens Cottages are to the left of the Gardeners Arms pub. Yellow door.

From the M11 J5 (only if traveling North bound - there's no South bound junction 5),
turn left at the bottom of the slip road and keep going straight on at the traffic lights (A1168).
Pass under the bridge and go straight across both mini roundabouts. Keep following this road
until you come to another mini roundabout where you should turn left (past the DIY store).
Pass the Plume of feathers pub on your left.  100 yards after the crest of the hill, there is a

From London (A406 etc), follow the A104 all the way through Woodford and after a dual
carriageway section of road, get in the right hand lane.   After the traffic lights, pass a
large red brick school (Bancrofts) on the left and just as the road enters the forest, fork right.
Take this road (the A121) through Buckhurst Hill and on into Loughton High Street (straight
over the mini roundabout).  After the parades of shops, there is a small green with a war
